Please...leaky heart valves? Anyone... Scared

I posted a previous post about finding out I have tricuspid valve regurgitation. I just found out along with that, I also have mitral valve regurgitation. I'm 23 years old, 35 weeks pregnant and went in because of palpitations. I wore a 48 hour halter monitor and honestly I felt palpitations and even wrote them down on my time sheet and they said my results came back as normal? They told me my leaky valves were very trivial and that my echo came back "good"? That's good? They also said my ejection % is 65%. But I have anxiety so I can't get this off of my mind until I get more answers. I've talked to a couple different doctors and they say "trivial means normal. You're fine" well I don't feel normal or fine.... :-( I'm going to have two young babies. I don't understand how it happened. I called them and they told me it is not pregnancy induced and I could have possibly been born with it. How many people have long healthy lives with this? I don't want to think about heart surgery. ;-( I'm just so scared I don't know what to think and my fiancé is telling me to stop and in getting on his nerves because I've been told I'm fine. I just have a hard time believe everything will be fine. I guess I just need some reassurance .....I can't sleep I'm freaking out so bad ..I woke up with my body trembling from worrying and I know it's not good for the baby :'(

I would say that if the docs are not worried by it, then neither should you ve. Yes anything with the heart is scary, I understand that completely. I also understand that when a doc has done all the tests and says you are fine, then you are just fine. If this is a big worry then ask the doc what your outlook is and that will set your mind at ease. If you were born with it then you have made it fine so I don't see any reason that you won't be fine still. Hope this helps hun.

I am sorry you are dealing with this worry.:( I know how scary it can be to worry about one's health...especially since you are pregnant...and this compounds your concern.

However, if your doctors thought for a second, that there was ANY risk or concern regarding your cardio function...they would have had you in for further evaluation...yesterday!! They simply can't and won't leave things like this to chance.

Would consulting with a cardiologist help relieve your fears? This would give you the absolute definitive word on your heart health.

Get a referral if you can...

Lisa, my Wife has two heart valves that don't seal properly, A fib, blood that tends to clot, diabetes, and is grossly over
weight, she does anything she wants to, shop, walk, play with grandchildren, never has a problem,
"she is 70 and going strong". Many people have abnormalities in the cardiovascular region and live very uncomplicated lives, Be Not Afraid whats normal for you may be abnormal for someone else. Live, Peace

Don't worry you are fine you ***** the holter monitor you got the echo with ejection fraction rate of 65 which is beautiful 50% is normal to 65 was great everybody usually has trace mitral regurgitation or trace tricuspid regurgitation so that is fine. Palpitations are very annoying and frustrating now that you're pregnant a lot of times palpitations are worse when you're pregnant with the hormones I'm not pregnant nor have I ever been but I get palpitations all the time and I have the same thing you have but it's fine . Anxiety just adds to the palpitations when you're done being pregnant and if they don't come as much you just have to deal with them they're annoying but they're not bad PVCs are PAC so you're fine . Cut back on any caffeine chocolate anything that's going to aggravate it especially stress

Isn't it so unfair that it almost doesn't matter if you do have the condition or not? You are already living as if you do. It's not "Whoohoo! I'm healthy!" It's, "they obviously missed something."

When I was preg w my first kid, I was a complete anxious wreck. Unmedicated, horrible therapist, no coping skills and no perspective. It was a healthy pregnancy and I worried it away.

W my 2nd (who was born full term healthy and fat and will be 4 next month), I started showing signs of labor @ 20 weeks. Now THAT was something to worry about. I wasn't anxious (concerned? sure) w my 2nd pregnancy, because there WAS something to worry about.

Because I had a reason, I knew what steps I needed to take to keep us as safe as possible.

Since anxiety is such a horrid witch, with my 1st, there wasn't anything wrong, so my anxious brain just made up a bunch of stuff to make me miserable.

During the worst of my anxiety, before I knew it was 'just' anxiety, I'd secretly wish there was something wrong w me, then at least I'd have a reason for all the worry.

I hope you can find peace in knowing that it's 'just' anxiety and the rest of the worry are just scary thoughts that can't hurt you.

Thank you all so much for the replies. I feel better hearing this. Of course my anxiety makes it hard to believ anyone sometimes.... Stupid anxiety !!!😡 I've been told by 3 doctors and 1 nurse "trivial = normal. You are FINE" I even got told by a md "what you got is good news" I'm looking at him like .... Really? Lol. I guess that's good news. But he's right could be worse huh. Ugh. I just wanna live a normal anxiety free life. It's not fair! And sucks when I have it so bad my fiancé or mom dont even wanna hear me talk about it anymore.

Lisa, no one who has not suffered from anxiety or panic can even understand what you deal with, thats why
