Hi AG,
I can relate to what you describe. Anxiety can certainly take a toll on memory/cognitive function!
The brain can only handle so much...and since anxiety takes so much energy and demands all our attention...something is bound to give.
Therefore managing the anxiety is key. Therapy and/or self help is always recommended!
...and until you can reach a better place in your recovery...using reminders such as notes, timers, printed schedules...ect. should help.:)
