I have definitely noticed this too! Not only am I exhausted the next day, but I also experience more anxiety. I can't find the link right now, but there is an actual physical reason for this. I'll try to look it up.
I have learned over the years that sleep is HUGELY important to manage my anxiety and depression. For me, it's like a vicious cycle. No sleep leads to more anxiety which leads to no sleep, etc.
Unfortunately I can't offer any fool proof solution for this, but want you to know that you are not the only one going through this.
I also would consider a sleep aid. I try not to rely on meds but because sleep is so important, I will do whatever it takes to help me stay on track.
Good luck to you - I hope you find relief soon.
