Guys should I quit Zoloft tomorrow? Started 6 days ago

Ok so, I was feeling horrible a week ago but today no anxiety other than morning. I am taking Zoloft for 6 days I'm finding I can cope and like one of the kind frequent posters "Scaredy Cat" said.. I found my thing that works which is meditation and running every day 2s. I just walked outside with no agoraphobia getting to me.. Should I stop Zoloft before I have to do the whole thing I don't think it's possible for it to work in 6 days and maybe all I needed was vigorous exercise because 10 days ago non stop I was having panic attacks. Is there a point in continuing meds? I would still take Klonoplin for emerg? Idk maybe today is just a very good day

Dog, you can do what you choose, however i would report this to my doctor, you dont want to make a
med decision contrary to the doctors directions, just check call tomorrow and make sure this is the proper direction for you, ok? Peace

I'm with Larry. Also, what drove you to start the Zoloft to begin with? I would hate for you to jump the gun in quitting, but I know that for many of us, we don't want to be on a med if we don't have to.

I too would warn against stopping abruptly.

I could very well be that you are feeling better at only 6 days...some people do! (the adjustments for some people may last longer, but it's not unusual for others to feel almost immediate relief)

I really meant that you have found coping skills to work well alongside the medication...

...but the decision is between you and your doctor of course, so checking in with him/her and discussing what is best for you would be a good step.:)

I also agree with the above.

These kind of meds can make improvements quickly but take a while to reach full benefit.

Speak with your doctor before making a decision.

I agree with all above. Please discuss it with your dr first.

Though, if I were you I wouldn't quit at day 6. You came to the end of the first week, the first week you may have increased anxiety. If you have managed to come this far, I recommend you to hang in there and continue.

PS. Yes there is a GOOD reason for continuing your meds (zoloft is an antidepressant). They don't give you temporary relief like many sedatives/benzos do. They are for balancing brain chemicals and are used for treating panic/anxiety disorder.
