This is a common and harmless anxiety symptom, yes.
It is most likely caused, in your case, from over breathing or 'air gulping'...since you have had breathing issues.
When anxious, we over breathe...and swallow air that needs to come up!
Keep practicing your breathing and relaxation exercises!
