Hi PD,
Yes, 'waiting for the other shoe to drop' so to speak...this is a common concern! I understand and have been there...and still am sometimes, to be sure.
It is natural to worry about going back to a place that we are happy to have left behind! However, being anxious about anxiety is counter-productive, lol! ;p
I like to use positive mantras to get me through challenging times. Not only does is give immediate relief, but combating the negative/worrisome thoughts actually brings about positive changes in brain chemistry over time.
Saying something like this could help:
"I am making progress, and will continue to do well with my anxiety management!"
"Even if I experience a little detour in my path to wellness...I am stronger than ever, and can get back on track and continue my journey and feel better than ever."
"I have the tools I need to handle anything that comes my way."
These are just a few I like...you can make up your own, or see our Resources for a great link on Affirmations/Positive Mantras!
Peace and progress,
S.C.
