All because of upper left hand side back pain. Trying to stop the Dr. Google..
I'm fairly certain that my posture in my chair is poor. I'm also experiencing a lot of built up gas and since I cannot make myself burp, it is trapped! Sorry TMI!
My left shoulder blade is aching...what are the chances after 3 years of having my heart checked over that I could have developed heart issues??
Can GERD cause back pain like this...I feel it sometimes in my chest too :(
Trying to stop myself from leaving & going straight to the nearest hospital as I'm known to do.

PG,
The chances are entirely possible this is gastro related!
Stop symptom searching...practice some coping skills from our Resources...take an OTC for heartburn...
...and I am sure you'll be feeling much better soon.:)

PG, how are you doing? I'm also betting that it is gas related. I have had those pains in the shoulder and read somewhere that when gas is trapped it hurts your shoulders.

The digestive system and heart can give one a real fit, if i had to pick i would say, gas, indigestion,
ibs, I don't know your age or your prior health reports but i dont think it's your heart, Peace

I have super bad indigestion and stomach issues from all my anxiety and I get the pain in my back and chest and it doesn't help that I get severe heartburn with it all if I had to guess I'd say indigestion /gas..I've gone to urgent care before when I was having severe pain and it was acid reflux she thought I had a burn on my esophagus. Stomach issues can mimick heart problems so I get the nervousness about
it I've been there! If you've had your heart checked multiple times just try to believe the doctors I know its easier said than done and definitely try to stay away from Google that's adding fuel to the fire! Try sipping hot water or drinking milk.

Hi
Sorry you feel this way ..hot milk will calm u down as well but its not good for Gerd,. any dairy products is bad is bad for gerd. Since I'm taking ultac tablets i dont have a problem with trapped gas anymore. Ask your doctor about
it ...my doc gave me a month supply .. And you only have to take them for a month and I'm feeling so much better..
Sending hugs!!

Thanks everyone. It's been on & off since yesterday but I did not go to hospital! This forum really is a Godsend for me. Just reading posts makes me feel better but then the support comes and it's so comforting.
So can left arm pain be imagined with this as well you think? I've been sleeping on my right side but my left arm feels a bit achy. At the same time I know I have reflux. I can taste an acidic taste in my mouth and I hear raspiness in my throat. All Gerd symptoms right?

PG,
Thanks for checking back...glad to know you are feeling better...and great job on resisting going in to the ER...this is a big step!
I don't believe our symptoms are imagined...but rather we focus on the littlest sensation, and blow it out of proportion. Sore achy muscles happen to everyone...but we take worrying about
it to a new level, lol. What is likely tension...in our mind becomes something much worse!
As far as the acid taste and raspy throat...textbook GERD
Keep working on treating that issue...along with practicing anxiety management, and you should start to see a difference in how you feel.:)
With encouragement,
S.C.

Thanks:) if the gas pains are consistently on the left side wouldn't that mean it's something else??? Feels like it's always in the same area. What is strange is if I press on the spot that hurts it goes away for a short bit.

Could just be nerve sensitivity in that area...
Are you taking an antacid or PPI?

Thanks everyone. Instead of the ER I will head back to my regular doc for advice. Imy right eye has started twitching so I'm fairly sure my anxiety and panic have returned full stop. I'm not fond of the side effects that Paxil give me so I'm going to ask to try something else. Hopefully short term :)
