Soul:
Sorry to hear of the tough times.
Are you riding this out bareback?
That is, without any medicine? If you are, I don't see how you make it. I have manic-depression and take Lithium, which brings down the mania and lifts and lessens the depression. I also take an anti-depressant, "Mirt......."
For several years, off and on, I hand panic attacks. I was on only an anti-depressant during those years, and they didn't slow down the panic attacks at all.
Finally, I was diagnosed with manic-depression and was put on Lithium, and the panic attacks stopped instantly, and they have never returned, and I'm still taking Lithium.
How have you been diagnosed? If you are miss-diagnosed, you will be miss-medicated, and you won't be getting very much if any help. If you are diagnosed with panic attacks, are you getting any medicine?
Panic attacks may be part of some other ailment. Mine was. I had a nervous breakdown first, and the panic attacks started immediately after the nervous breakdown.
Do you have a psychiatrist? Can you mention to him or her that I found Lithium to work great for stopping my panic attacks?
As for the family thing, my brother drives me to distraction, also. We may have the same brother. He was so bad I had to drop relations with him all together. Yours is not that bad, but mine was. I know at family gatherings, you might feel you have to get along.
But my family has passed away and we don't have anymore gatherings, with just the grown children, so I have it easier than you do. I use to have this woman helper who messed me up, and then would go around putting, "Life is good!" notes all over my house.
Yeah, I know that feeling.
