Atarax

Has anyone ever taken Atarax for anxiety? My Dr prescribed me 10mg of Atarax as needed. He had me on Xanax as needed but took me off of it because it can become addictive.

I never heard of Atarax until now and wanted some input on the medication. Thanks

Atarax/Vistaril are antihistamines prescribed 'off label' for anxiety...often as an alternative to a benzodiazepine. (which as you mention can carry a risk of dependency)

I think this sounds like a solid plan for you...and you can expect good things from this! :)
