Hello Hannah and welcome.
First off, let me offer my deepest condolences on the loss of your husband. I am so sorry...and words fail in the light of such a tragic loss for you and your son/daughter. I thank you for your family's service and sacrifice for our country.
Do you have support specifically for your grieving process? Are you able to talk to someone...either a counselor/therapist, or in a peer group setting? I do hope these outlets are available to you.
We also have Resources at the top of the main forum page here that I always recommended. Self help is very effective, and something you can get started on right away. Check out the coping skills and exercises suggested. ..they will help with time and practice.
As.far as your Rx question goes...a dose increase can cause a bump in anxiety...just as the initial start up may have. This is expected as your system is adjusting...
...but things should level out soon, as the meds therapeutic level a are reached.
Please post with us anytime for anxiety support. We will be here to listen and encourage anytime.
