I just ran out of my lexapro 10mg and I just moved and need to reapply for my insurance because the only thing it covers out of state is er visits and then I have to find a doctor so this is going to take time.i am having really bad withdrawal symptoms and its causing a lot of anxiety.i tried calling my primary physician but I haven't gone for a check up this year so I can not get a phone prescription.Also my therapist who prescribes my lexapro is on vacation so things are not going my way at all. I really have no idea what to do and I feel really sick after not taking it.i been on lexapro for over 4-5 years now. :(

I would go to ER, state your case, i believe they must help you, it seems its the only course of action.Peace

Hi and welcome.

I agree, it looks like your only option (that would be covered) is to go to the ER...though they are unlikely to send you home with any medication...

You may have to tough it out through the weekend...make an appointment on Monday, and pay out of pocket. Just find a doctor that can see you ASAP...even if you don't end up staying on with them...you can at least get a prescription so you don't suffer discontinuation effects.

i've had issues like this when i had no insurance, call your er or hospital and ask if they know of any mental health crisis clinics that can help with medication. the one in my town is referred to as "acute phsyciatric services" and is basically a 24 hour walk in clinic for mental health, has the feel of an urgent care center but is more for emergencies. at any rate, if you live near a metropolitan area there should be something similar, and if not, like others said, just go straight to the plain old ER and get back on those meds. might not hurt to call a local crisis line for your area and ask if they might have a place to refer you too as well. good luck and God bless
