Not sure if others experience this, but I have noticed a distinct pattern with my anxiety / panic. While I'm often a nervous dude, on occasion I start to feel this strange build up of what seem to be physical symptoms (wobbliness, some leg weakness, sweating, shaking). At the time I may not think this is anxiety / panic related but after a while it can result in a panic attack which of course has all these uncomfortable sensations.
After the panic subsides I feel drained but strangely calm...it's like my mind needed it to hit the reset button.
I also think one of my big triggers is my stomach as when I start taking Nexium due to heartburn, my anxiety goes down.

AT,
Yes, I used to have patterns that I could come to predict...
Now, I have only occasional issues...but I remember just what you describe in your post!
I kind of equate it to the 'cup of water' effect. Daily stressors drip in one by one, accumulating, until the inevitable overflow happens. The last drop may be something fairly insignificant...but that's not the point...it is simply because there is no more room for anything!
Keep working on emptying the accumulation everyday with coping skills.:)

That's a really good analogy SC, I'll have to internalize it and keep the drips from turning into too much water, which like you said requires daily maintenance.
In all honesty, I tend to let things get to me, usually because I'm a people pleaser and allow myself to be sold short emotionally in order to try and keep others happy.

I think we come to know the signs when panic and Anx are going to kick in even when we are not expecting it.
New symptoms too.... But as you say daily maintenance is key....so it be comes easier to shake off the fear .. With lots of practice.
I thought I was good today then out of the blue I felt like the floor was moving that startled me and almost sent me in panic... But luckily my trusty mantra came to my rescue xx
I am noticing that kind caring doing people are more prone to anxiety..... But I would rather me nice than mean spirited xx
Well wishes to you
Gill

Hi
All those symptoms you described are classic anxiety symptoms and are part of the fight or flight response.
Do all you can to reduce your anxiety and should see an improvement in your other symptoms.

Thanks Hibee, appreciate the feedback. I think part of it is that, after all these years, I'm still amazed how sneaky a high anxiety or panic episode can be early on in the process.
Now granted, I'm so much further along than before and even the worst today is better than it ever was before...still gives me reason to pause and think a little bit!
