I'm taking 100 mg seroquel and its extremely sedating. I sleep for 11- 12 hours everyday. I am okay with the long hours for the most part but lately i've been wondering, worried that such long hours without waking up for peeing even once might cause some sort of urine toxicity. I have health anxiety so most of the times my fears are groundless, exaggerated. I needed your advice to know if this is one of those times.

I would think that if you drink enough liquid when you are up and pass it regularly that you would be ok,
i am not a doctor this is just my thinking. Also how long have you been taking this drug and do you have
any physical problems?

I take 50 mg generic version ,its for my insomnia but i tend to sleep for 12 hrs at nonconsistent hrs.

Staying in bed for long scares me too.

But its like i m passed out.

Sitting and staying at one position for long causes DVt and stroke i know.

But all other methods of meds fail to help me.

I am looking for alternative as doc doesn't want me to take antipsychotic pill.

Look for another pill from doc and mention yr reasons

Hey cill, thanks for the reply. I'm in the same predicament. Seroquel is surprisingly effective for anxiety. It has the least propensity to alter prolactin compared to other antipshychotics. thats one of the reason i want to stay on it.

I take extended release version, so i'm thinking about taking it in the morning. That seems like the best solution. I only hope it doesn't induce cravings throughout the day like it does at night.

I take generic but you are taking best version ,

I feel extremely hungry on it ,i saw too.

Thats weird.

Thanks for letting me know about prolactin,,,that's new.

I was on ambien before and that s a bad med.

Hi

I have taken Seroquel in the past but stopped taking it as it made me feel to tired during the day but it did work well on my anxiety but I also put on a lot of weight around 2 stone.

I am currently taking a similar medication called Olanzapine and doing well on it.

If your doctor has not already mentioned regular blood tests to monitor kidney/liver functions (glucose and lipid levels as well) then you can request this.

It is purely precautionary, but if you plan on taking any black box Rx for an expended period of time....it can bring peace of mind.smile
