Adding Lexapro now...

Has anyone taken Effexor and Lexapro together? I am back down to 150 mg of my Effexor, adding 5 mg of Lexapro, starting tomorrow. I always take my meds in the morning...but I'm wondering if I should take the Lexapro in the morning or at bedtime.

I would appreciate any info anyone can give me. I'm a bit nervous taking the 2 together, but I trust my PDoc...I know one thing is for certain, I am truly frustrated with my anxiety and depression and just want my life back. Ugh.

I do believe we have some members who have used this combo...so keep checking for your responses.

Most people find Lexapro activating, so sticking to your a.m. dosage should be a good plan.

Hi

I have not taken that specific combo but have taken Mirtazapine and Effexor together and it did work well.

Lexapro is definitely best taken in the morning along with your Effexor.

I hope this combo works well for you keep us posted on your progress.

Thank you for the responses. I will definitely take the lexapro in the morning with my other meds. I'm hoping I have a good response to it since celexa had worked for me in the past with no side effects. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will finally be the right cocktail of meds. I absolutely loved how I felt when we added the Zoloft to the Effexor, but after 2 months, I couldn't shake the constant headache it gave me.

So I took my 1st Lexapro pill this morning! Didn't hesitate, didn't think, just took it. So hopefully this will be the medicine that gives me that little extra boost that I've been searching for!

Day 2 of taking the Lexapro...so far, so good! The only thing I have noticed is some sleepiness...other than that, no side effects!

4th day on Lexapro. A tiny bit of fluttery feelings in my chest, anxiety, I suppose and just feeling super tired. Other than that, no other side effects that I have noticed.

Should 5 mg be making me feel so dang tired? I'm ok with it, as long as it will go away.

I wish you would pass a bit of that tired on to me. I stopped the effexor today, I can't take not sleeping. I got one hour in three days. I tried benadryl last night and it didn't help either. I called my Dr. today to make sure that wouldnt be a problem but of course they didnt bother to call me back.
