Anxiety medicine (for daytime) without sexual side-effects?

I see that a lot of them have this particular side-effect; so which are the ones that don´t cause low libido? I´m looking for one that is used for day-time and, as a bonus, doesn´t cause drowsiness through the day.

Personal experiences will be useful of course.

The list of A/D's with the least likelihood of causing sexual s/e's are: (these are classified as 'atypical antidepressants')

Bupropion (Wellbutrin)

Mirtazepine (Remeron)

Vilazodone (Viibryd)

Now, whether or not they will work to manage your anxiety remains to be seen of course. Generally speaking, most people respond well to SSRI's...

...but then they can carry the undesired effect that you are trying to avoid.

You will just have to discuss your concerns with your prescribing doctor, and give the chosen Rx a try.

I´ve heard that Benzodiazepines don´t cause sexual side-effects, but are they any more or less harmful than the SSRIs in terms of other side-effects?

Anyone out there with experience on Benzodiazepines?

escitroprolam, non generic. i am on hrt, so i can atest to this, from am anecdotal male view.

Benzodiazepines are certainly on the low end as far as side effects are concerned...

...however, they really are not ideal for everyday use, long term. They carry a tolerance (more medication is necessary over time) and dependency (addiction) risk.

Benzos are best taken as needed for times of acute anxiety (short term) and attacks.

Hi

Mirtazapine or Lexapro would be good options to look into.

Benzo's work well at treating anxiety and don't have many side effects but they are very addictive so doctors tend not to prescribe them for long term use and opt for an antidepressant.
