My name is Nate I am 37 years old I've been getting the funny little hiccup feeling in my chest since I've been 14 years old at age 17 I went in and headache Echo cardio done I've had numerous EKGs done I've had many doctors Listen to My Heart everything seems normal. Now my new thing is I've been waking up at 1:40 a.m. for the last 3 nights when I lay back down to bed I feel a flip-flop and a flutter that brings me to my feet in seconds then I go into a half panic attack mode and slowly calm myself down and wonder if I'm going into atrial fib or not, does anybody else ever have this

Yes Nate I have palpitations too.
They come on with no warning. It's anxiety and it's hard to accept.
I have a few coping skills that help me calm myself.
Massaging my hands with lotion continuously and pulling on my fingers.
It's kind of what they do with a manicure.
Deep breathing in thru the nose out thru the mouth. I do this slowly so aid in a calming effect. Sometimes I go for a walk but it's important to distract your mind from the problem. I use head phones with easy listening music.
Sometimes a warm/cool shower helps.
Drink a glass of water for hydration.
If your so inclined repeating the 23rd psalm is helpful too. At least it is for me. I know it's very scary to go thru but there are many of us that suffer the same symptoms. I wish you well Nate.
We are here for you.

Some people are just genetically pre-disposed for anxiety due to a brain chemistry issue...
...others have 'learned' anxious thinking and behaviors through experiences.
Either way, two main fears with an anxiety disorder are losing one's mind...or loss of health/life.
You are never alone as long as you come and share with us here.
We are a community/family who completely gets what you are going through!
Check out all those links...and keep posting!
S.C.
p.s. there is a book recommendation in the Resources that has a section on the fear of dying...let me know if you'd like me to post that link.

You said,
"many doctors Listen to My Heart everything seems normal."
Everything else being equal, you might try a heating pad on your chest.
I don't have palpitations, but I use a heating pad on my chest every night. Some nights I have some chest pain, and it helps with that. (I've been checked out by a doctor, who says my heart is fine.)
Even if I don't have chest pain, I still use the heating pad on my chest every night. The heat widens the blood vessels which allows the blood flow to go more smoothly, and lessens the stress on the heart.
I would also lay on the side, or back, whichever seems the most comfortable on the heart.
I keep the heating pad plugged into an outlet near my bed, and just cut it on to whatever setting I think is best.
The heating pad also helps me sleep better, like a child cuddling up to a warm teddy bear.
As someone has said, the palpitations could be related to stress. I have chest pain when I'm under stress. You may be under more stress than you realize.
You might want to look any possible causes for that, even something that may have started months ago, but may be just now causing you trouble.

Hey Nate I've wondered those same thoughts over and over.
Have you tried medication? There are some good ones that can help you. You might ask your physician to prescribe a beta blocker. That helps regulate the heart rate and may stop them from happening. If that works for you it will hopefully stop the panic since that irregular heart beat is the trigger.
It's a trigger for me as well.
In addition you might think about trying an antidepressant that also treats panic disorder and anxiety.
If it helps it's so worth it.
Take care someone is always here.
