I frequented this site a couple of years ago when I was in the midst of a serious anxiety/depression episode. So it's been awhile. I am feeling so much better now. Two years of therapy plus 30 mg. Paxil have gradually righted the ship. I also discovered very low vitamin D levels, for which I take 50,000iu supplement once a week. At my lowest point, the support on this site really helped, too. I tried a variety of medications. Some helped for awhile. Some made me feel worse. Sleep was an issue, but I avoided long term use of things like ambien. Just wasn't comfortable with becoming dependent on it. I benefit greatly from exercise, too, the Catch 22 being that my condition made it difficult to work out. I am a cyclist, and going out and doing a 25 mile ride always improves my outlook. I'm back to say that you can recover. I don't ever think that I've conquered anxiety and depression, but I've come to terms with it. Also, I'd answer any questions that you might have.
