Let me explain each and everything from start->
So from past 2months i have extreme fear from dieing of rabies. There were 4encounters with dogs in my life.Mainly the 4th is my fear however i explained everything.
1st=Almost 4Years ago A group of 3dogs ran behind me.However i successfuly managed to escape from there. At the beginning of my fear of rabies i thought about it but later overcame of the fear of this encounter.
2nd=Almost 3years ago my neighbour's dog slightly scratched me with his teeth in my hand.I just washed the wound.Didnt took any vaccinations cuz i thought it was a pet dog there is no chance of getting rabies from that dog. That dog died after 1.5years of that incident.I was panicked mainly with this situation.I thought what if he died of rabies.Later i found if he had rabies he would have died in some days or probably some weeks. Also i asked the owner and he said he vaccinated his dog.So i also overcame it.
3rd=Same like 2nd situation.A neighbour's dog bit me several time. However i overcame from this fear cuz i know they vaccinate the dog and also the dog is still alive after 1year.
Now the 4th=
8months ago I was feeding a bung of stray dog pup in our locality when he tried to climb onto my foot. I felt some of their claws poking me but did not receive anything that could be considered a "scratch."I researched bit on google and got very scared. From past 2weeks I'm having thigh muscle aches. Then suddenly yesterday i got prickling sensation all over my body especially in face.I googled again got scared immediately cause every symptom matched. Also from yesterday im having muscle twitches. Also i have cold. Then i googled a bit and every intial symptoms matched.I got extremely panicked.Suddenly a cough with lots of sputum came to my throat.Im extremely feared.Muscle aches, pricklings, twitchings usually don't last. They usually gone and temporary.Symptomps usually come and gone by its own. When i go to sleep symptomps wasnt there and again come if i woke up and think about it.When i ********* all symptoms gone.
Facts:
1.our locality there was no history of rabies death and rabid dogs.Im sure cuz every dog is healthy and alive for more than a year. Also my dad told me.I live in india,i know its high on rabies death but in our locality there wasn't a single case.
There is no bats and skunks, ferrets in our locality.Especially vampire bat who spread rabies not available in india.
2.Mother of those pups are still alive and also every dog of our locality. Also 2 pups grown big and alive.Other pups died because of cold and lack of food(i think personally if they bitten by other dogs they would be dead instantly and if they survive still in our area they wouldn't caught rabies cuz other dogs in our locality is rabies free).
3.Also i think if one of em had rabies others would have also. All pups will die because they eat together play together and sleep together.Since 2pups alive so chances are low.
Please help me my symptomps are only for anxiety or is it rabies? please tell me some good news 😢😢😢

Hello and welcome!
I am sorry that your anxiety is getting the best of your rational thinking regarding this rabies fear. Please know that this is a fairly common concern among anxiety sufferers. In fact, if you do a 'Search' here in our forums...you can read mine, and other's similar stories!
The fact is that you have virtually zero exposure risk...or chance of having rabies. However, I know that does little in helping , since it is really anxiety at the core of this issue...and anxiety tends not to listen to rationalization.
Have you struggled with other fears/worries/phobias in the past? If so, what if anything have you tried for finding recovery?
We have some great self help available in our Resources at the top of the main forum page here. I suggest you check it out and try some if the Stress Relieving Exercises and Meditation Videos. The Therapy Worksheets will also help combat the intrusive thoughts and worries.
If you find you need further help with anxiety management...talking with your doctor about a referral for a therapist should be your next step.
Post with us anytime for support and encouragement.

Hi RealdjSoham - This past May I had a similar fear. I found 2 baby raccoons that had fallen from their nest, and took care of them until the local Wildlife Coalition could take them. I got a small scratch from one of them, and both my vet and doctor told me I was ok and that the babies aren't rabid. However, that didn't stop my anxiety from setting in for weeks. So, I ended up going to my doctor (GP) who said I was fine.
If you're fearful of this, I highly recommend going and talking to your GP. If they have any worry at at all, there is always the option of the rabies vaccination if that gives you peace of mind. I know getting reassurance down my doctor really helped me. I was so anxious for a good month following this, but my GP made me feel better and I'm ok (three months later).
Sending you positive thoughts!
