Genesight test results

Well, I went over these results with my psychiatrist yesterday and feel so-so about the results. It did accurately say that Effexor was on the "do not take" list for me based on my genetics and how I metabolize this medication. However, Zoloft was in the column of one I should be able to tolerate well. Wellbutrin being the one that should be favorable. So......I may need to give Z another shot here. My doc would start me out at a dose meant for an 8 year old basically given my history with medications. One thing about wellbutrin is that it can actually cause more anxiety? And is more for depression?

And finally, any suggestions on how to keep weight on? I have dropped 8 pounds in the past month. Just have no appetite whatsoever. Some of that may be attributable to the adderall I take, but I have never gone down in weight this much in so little time.

Thank you for the reply. So, the wellbutrin does not keep you awake when you take it at night? Are you taking this primarily for depression, or anxiety? I think my psychiatrist will let me make the call on weather to take zoloft again (starting at a smaller dose than I did a couple months ago which caused sleeping problems) or try wellbutrin. Like all of these medications, they work for some and not for others. Not sure which direction to take.
