Hello. I've suffered with LPR for a while now. Stress from anxiety can definitely cause reflux to spike. Like certain fats like dairy, as well as foods such as chocolate and onions/garlic, stress causes the Lower Esophageal Sphincter to not work as efficiently in keeping stomach acids from migrating up into the esophagus.
I've found that not eating at least three hours before going to bed/lying down is a game changer. That's thanks to what I've read from Dr. Jamie Koufman. Also cutting back on alcohol, sleeping on a wedge, and drinking alkaline water (pH over 8) has helped me immensely.
