Hello all,

so i finally went to the drs and explained how bad my panic attacks and anxiety are getting and she prescribed me with lexapro 10mg. I'm meant to take 5mgs for the first week and then 10mgs for the second. After reading the side effects list, i felt a bit hesitant but the pharmacist explained it to me and told me to take the list with a 'pinch of salt'. So i got home and took my half. My question is, is anyone else on here on lexapro and what was your experience? I'm at the point now where i am actually happy that a dr took me seriously and prescribed me because i am really at my wits end with it all. I will continue to meditate and all that but as we all know, any RELIEF from panic and anxiety is so welcome!!

I don't have personal experience to share, other than reading many, many start up experiences of others, and doing my research on psychotropics...

...but from what I have gathered...even though the start can have its challenges (though don't anticipate this because many don't notice any!) it is well worth the means to an end...

…which is a med that performs well for you! smile

Great plan of continuing your coping skills, as these are always an integral part of any manangment plan. smile

Hi

I used to take Lexapro and found it to be very effective in fact it's the best AD I have tried I was on it for a few years but it pooped out on me so I had to change. I had a few start up side effects but these went after 2-3 weeks and then I had no side effects so it was a winner.

It is a very activating antidepressant so it's best to take it first thing in the morning because if you take it at night it will cause sleep problems. I hope it works well for you keep us posted.

Hello,

Ive been taking Lexapro for years now and its helped me alot. I started with 5mgs and now at 10mgs. You will have few side effects with your body adjusting to meds. I found it best to take it during the day and with a small snack. I felt the relaxing effects caused me to have more indigestion and sleepiness. I found it best to take the same time everyday. im on day 4 of the 5mgs and am defs feeling it working. Only downfall i feel tired and keep yawning but its taken the edge of my anxiety. I feel a little bit off balance and weird like foggy in the head but apparently thats normal. I cant wait to feel fully better smile
