Being a mental health worker or professional is a great way to make a living for lots of people.
But even individuals who love working with those with mental illness, such as psychiatrists, therapists, etc., need to take a break every so often. Even those who love what they do need to go on a vacation every now and then.
However, sometimes a mental health provider doesn't always realize that he or she needs to take a break. Sometimes their coworkers see it first. Sometimes their coworkers see that the person is getting stressed out and unhappy with their line of work before they do.
I remember when I was in a mental hospital back in 2011, I worked with a psychiatrist who clearly needed to take a vacation. I think she cared about
me as her patient. But at the same time, I saw that she was getting stressed out. And I don't think she realized it.
So if you work in the mental health field, or if you're a patient like I was, you may see that a provider needs a vacation before that individual realizes it.
