Hi , this is my second post - diagnosed the other day but a sufferer since I can remember. I also have phobias , depression , OCD amongst other things.

I am 27 , have a wonderful partner and a lovely daughter (5)

I have been through a lot in my few years but only now have I come to accept how this has affected me and that I need help.

I can so relate to the pain pill thing all the time I have crohns and Pyoderma gangrenosum as well as other illnesses which I am not really ready or able to tlak about yet

I posted first on a new topic thread but I'm here.

I've dealth with depression but I know that the depression is born out of trying to "fight off" the anxiety. So now I am focussing on dealing with the anxiety and the reasons for that.

47 year old, mother of two, wife of a wonderful man. Totally determined to beat this stuff and be happy.

Hi!!!! I don't post as often on here anymore, but I'm Ali and I was diagnosed with GAD last year, went on meds (Effexor and Klonopin), did the CBT thing, and now can officially qualify myself as "in remission" :) Also I moderate the HIV/AIDS forum! :)

Hi! I'm new too! 23. Female. Went to school in pennsylvania for Biology and English-writing. Just graduated this may. Currently teaching English in Poland. In the past 5 years have moved a lot: PA, VA, FL, CA, and now Poland. Looking foreward to going back to Pittsburgh to go to grad school and set up a semi-permanent home. Very very single. I was just diagnosed with PD two to three months ago. Taking Paxil. I think that's about everything. Glad to be here!

Newish...been on here a few times. And I love this forum, such great people out there!
19, and started having panic attacks in april...not that many though..mainly anxiety, cant stop thinking
im going to die..have some illness or die on the spot...just because all of these weird symptoms.
Im not sure about OCD though, because I have just realised I do some weird stuff...like make myself
finish food i dont want to finish otherwise i tell myself im going to feel some horrible symptom again or have a panic attack
if i dont do it. thats just an example.
Im studying chinese in paris, and have a wonderful bf. In therapy, and taking no medication altho i was taking a mild antidepressant.
I do acupuncture or just started, and hopefully that will help. but im always really scared that i have something undiagnosed...although ive had 2 blood tests in the past 3 months, neurologist as well. Other than that mild PTSD due to living through part of the rwandan genocide!
I do also believe this will pass soon..im a very stressful and worrying person, but I believe that this is temporary, and that I have to find myself my own identity.

yeah  I am totally so pleased to see all of you posting and introducing selves to the "family" here at HW

I have decided to bump this thread up as I see we have many new members every day and would like to also give them a chance to post here if they so desire tongue

I  really believe you will all find the caring, support and empathy second to none here on HW

We support each other with whatever we can and are sorry you have to be here but in the same token glad you found us to have a support system to come to

Welcome everyone and new members to HW. Lyn this was a great idea you had here. 

 

I'm 43 I have 3 son's 27, 29, 31 and 3 grandaughters and 1 grandson. I have been a member here for about 6 months I think..lol. I have made losts of friends here and have given and recived lots of support and understanding here at HW. I post as often as I can but you can usually find me in live chat so please come visit sometimes. (((HUGS)) to you all and have a happy weekend.

Figure it is a good way to keep up with all the new members or try we are getting lots and although I wish this DD on no one I am glad they have found us here at HW

Hi there.
My name is Maree..kinda new here..44 yrs old..come from New Zealand...have had anx/panic at various times over the past 20 years..but no easier to deal with each time..and always some new symptom appears...grrrr..
Anyhow, in the short time I have been visiting this site I have had so much support it's been amazing (thanx everyone), and I think just the knowing that I am not alone really helps!

Hi, I'm Suzy. I've been posting more on the depression board but am here too. I'm 37, had to stop and think about it, married and have three kids. I've been fighting with depression and anxiety for awhile now, but it really came on hard a few months ago. It's been horrible, to the point I was making plans on what my husband would do to take care of the kids without me.
Went to the doc about four weeks ago and am on prozac now, go back on the 30th for a checkup and some test. These boards have been a true help to me through some rough times.

Hi I'm Patty.
I'm 43 with 3 kids, two boys 8 and 6 and my daughter, soon to be 4. My man is caring and supportive and more than anything patient while we figured this stuff out. He deserves big props as he's the only bread winner and is sensitive enough to take care of everyone when I'm having a rotten time either with this a/p stuff or reflux or migraines--he is my rock. I'm not incapasitated sick very often but it's always inconvenient and he's there with understanding or a daddy day out with the kids.

Hi all im 19 years old happily married with a 16week old daughter, here is my story i was and still am anemic throughout my pregnancy ,i was diagnosed with PIH at 32 weeks pregnant admitted to hopsital with preeclampsia at 33.5 weeks diagnosed with servere pre-eclampsia at 34.5 weeks (high blood pressure, protein in urine , headaches which dont go away with pain relief , visual disturbances which i had all them symptons)had an emergancy c-section at 36 wks 3days had a beutiful daughter weighing 5lb 1oz called her leah, two days after i had my daughter i was feelin really faint just lyin on my hospital bed , pulse rocketing away at 15bpm , palpitations , they checked my blood and i needed an emergancy blood transfusion .Five days after that i was gettin all symptons on anxiety my doctor kept tellin me i have got axiety but i was convieved i was seriouly ill .it has taken my 12 weeks to finally get my anxiety under control i was on propranolol for 8 weeks for blood pressure and anxiety but my anxiety was worse on them it felt like someone was sittin on my chest from about an hour after i took it and this lasted for twelve-13 hours my doctor finally agreed to let me come off them and that stopped about 1-2weeks after i only get it occasionly. so thats a bit about me ta for reading mel xx
