Hi all im 19 years old happily married with a 16week old daughter, here is my story i was and still am anemic throughout my pregnancy ,i was diagnosed with PIH at 32 weeks pregnant admitted to hopsital with preeclampsia at 33.5 weeks diagnosed with servere pre-eclampsia at 34.5 weeks (high blood pressure, protein in urine , headaches which dont go away with pain relief , visual disturbances which i had all them symptons)had an emergancy c-section at 36 wks 3days had a beutiful daughter weighing 5lb 1oz called her leah, two days after i had my daughter i was feelin really faint just lyin on my hospital bed , pulse rocketing away at 15bpm , palpitations , they checked my blood and i needed an emergancy blood transfusion .Five days after that i was gettin all symptons on anxiety my doctor kept tellin me i have got axiety but i was convieved i was seriouly ill .it has taken my 12 weeks to finally get my anxiety under control i was on propranolol for 8 weeks for blood pressure and anxiety but my anxiety was worse on them it felt like someone was sittin on my chest from about an hour after i took it and this lasted for twelve-13 hours my doctor finally agreed to let me come off them and that stopped about 1-2weeks after i only get it occasionly. Is this normal for anxiety medication to make you anxiety actually worse many thanks melanie xx

I am not up on meds but I think some of them take a while to start working fully and that in that time you can have increased anxiety. I am sure others will be by to answer your questions.

Also, Welcome to HW there is a great group here and you will find lots of support.

you have found the best support system and group of peeps there are
we are all here for one another and care deeply about each other
you will come to see this as you post more and get to know us all
That med is for blood pressure you need a med IMO for A/P and there are ones out there tht will still able you to look after your young baby
Please go see the doc again and perhaps asks for something to help you thru this for even a short time 'A/P has a grip on you as it does many others
we will be here to support and be the ones to talk to about Anything w/o being judges .......
Post often and again see your doc it is important IMO

Welcome leahs mum, im glad you found us here. Congrats on baby girl!! how wonderful! But, sorry bout the anxiety, when i first had them, i was in the hospital for three days thinking i was dying, it takes awhile to convince yourself otherwise. I agree with lyn, i would go back and talk to doc again, just to get through the worst of it.....and i hope it doesnt last very long for you, so young and just starting life with a baby. Keep posting, and we are here if you need us. Feel better soon, and god bless

Welcome to HW! Congrats on your new baby! :)

I thought I was dying too when I had the anxiety/panic at first. I would hope you go to a doctor too, and see about meds maybe for the anxiety?

I needed meds for my anxiety/panic because I wasn't stable at all, and I thought I could beat the disorder.

But I couldn't.

I will though.

and I hope you do too.
