try some deep slow breathing and learn new relaxation and stress reduction methods
a beta blocker med such as inderal, taken as needed, will calm the heart and other physical but not mental anxiety problems
many docs dont think of this and so need to be reminded, these meds are all out of patent and available cheaply so arent advertised
yoiu may need to try several of them at different doses to find 1 that suits you
