How do you respond to taking SSRI's

I was given SSRI's today,for the 4th time in my life. The doctor said to me 'if you take these you cant stop because you don't feel better,you need to wait 6 weeks at least.

So i took one this morning once i got home. And after about only 2 hours i feel ecstatic,food tastes better,music seems better,colors seem brighter. I just wondered if any of you guys have ever taken SSRI's and how did you respond? My response surely isn't normal,all my worries just instantly went out the window and i don't know if i should discontinue it or stay on it? any responses would be good because i'm feeling confused at the moment.

I say stick with it as doc said unless you have something major along teh way of side effects. Keep us posted.

everyone reacts differently but i would stay on them and maybe take them just before bed

have positive thoughts because they will be a huge help if they work, some valium may help calm you if you become too entusiastic and moderate the alcahol over the holiday celebrations
