Hi All,
I would like to have your input about
this. The other day I heard a story on TV about
caffeine and depression. I was wondering if any if you have heard
that or how many of you use caffeine. It does make sense, I think. I would appreciate any input on this you all have to give me. I love coffee, especially
in the mronign if it will make me feel better not to drink it I want to stop. I am considering stopping anyway. I have digestive problems and my tummy
has been acting up lately. Thanks in advance. Take care all.

I don't drink coffee but when my anxiety first peaked last year I was drinking a heap of coke and pepsi. I was advised to stop drinking it as it makes you more anxious. Now I may have a small sip once every couple of weeks but I still have the anxiety, who's to say though if I kept drinking the coke on a daily basis the anxiety wouldn't be at a much higher level.

Hi Angel,
Thanks for your comments. I can't drink soda because of digestive problems. My gastrol doc told me no coffee. I understand what you are saying.

Coffee is pretty caustic to my stomach, too. I can handle soda these days, but I can feel the caffeine have an effect on my nervous system, especially if it's been a while since I've taken my clonazepam.
One time a couple years ago I quit coffee and soda cold turkey and was all water. I felt quite a bit better.

I tend to get palpitations if I have too much caffeine. I tend to stick to decaf drinks.

I am right there with you aussie, when I first starting having anxiety i was drinking about
2 or 3 sodas a day. I don't drink it anymore because my therapist said it was making my anxiety worse. I still tried to drink it here and there, and it really did make me anxious, so now I just don't drink it at all.

It is my understanding that theanine (a supplement found naturally in green tea, but you can buy in capsule form) will negate caffeine's effects. However, I just drink decaf!
