I ask this question today as I was reminded by my mentor in the alzheimers forum about something that is and was so dear n very close to my "HEART''
I can picture my Mom,out at the clothesline with the apron around her ...pocket full of pegs BUT she would still take the time to hand me the pegs in handfuls so I could be part of it too
This memory has really got me very nostalgic today and thinking about Mom and just how much I do miss her and how alike we were/are
She would have to hang clothes a certain way
Shirts were alwasy hung upside down and another was hung beside it and then the pants and then miscellaneous clothes as well as all the undergarments
She loved to do this and it was something I so enjoyed doing with her back then and I do the odd time with Cait 'cept have to rig a clothesline" as we are currently in an apartment on bottom floor BUT are moving to a bigger town
The talks we ( mom n I ) had whilst doing this was my favorite part next to the smell of the freshly dried by air clothing .....nothing that bounce or snuggle could ever replace in my opinion'
I did all the ironing when young even tea towels and pillow caeses still do that and Cait helps out has to have a crease or definiately no wrinkles in her clothing or is on a mission til they are all gone ...lol
Do any of you have fond memeories of your youth spent either with certain friends or your parents that you would care to share with us
I think it does the heart good to recall some "good times" in our lives and just not all the bad ya know ..........
JUST my own opinion and if you care to share please do ..........
I had tears this am when I wrote back to my mentor ............all he did was mention he was hanging the laundry on the line
IT has filled my heart with lots of warm n wonderful memories ...
Perhaps you have some too
Just a thought
Take care and
Be well all
