assuming your med works for you ( sometimes it doesnt) and keeps on working then yes, the cure can be permanent
I would think of taking it for 2 years, then stopping to see what happens, sometimes the old problems return, sometimes not, if they do return then the old med usually but not always works again, this is referred to taking it the second time around, by some docs
In my case I took cipramil, a med of the same type for about 2 years, quit as an experiment and the old anxiety problems didnt return
some are so happy to find an antidepressant that helps them that they want to stay on it the rest of their lives
I wouldnt be chosing paroxetine, look up its problems on the net
