Hi Verity,

I'm cracking up here about the Googling symptoms to death... TammyGRL and I were talking earlier about how we can diagnose ourselves with just about any terminal illness on the planet through the "brilliant" world wide web...  There should be a disclaimer that says "hypochondriacs back away from the key board"...  I know EXACTLY what you are going through I find myself doing the same things and then becoming so anxious and depressed about my impending demise that I can't function or focus on anything...  you are not alone!

Were are all wonderful beautiful people who deserve to feel good everyday!!! We will get there with a little help from our friends :)

Hi Liz

I agree that hypochondriacs should be banned from internet health sites. I have had everything going eyes from throat cancer (inflamed tonsiles) to ovarian cancer (constipation). I have even been to the Dr and asked about brain tumours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! turns out I needed my glasses changing.

I am slightly obsessed with dying young - it terrifies me & the stress I put myself through when I diagnose myself, its amazing.

It's not just Health things I obsess with, but health is the worst.

One day when you are really really down I will tell you the story of the Helium Balloon, then you understand just how my mind really does run off with me tongue

Kindred souls we are Verity... currently I am struggling with mid back pain, left side pressure under my rib cage, and bloating... now all of these things can be easily explained but I am battling this sense of impending doom because my anxious mind is telling me that it is a MASSIVE tumor growing on my adrenal gland... or lung cancer or something.  God help me I hate feeling this way!!!

Did I mention that I feel like the pressure makes me feel like I'm not breathing properly... well it does :(

Oh Liz I so know where you are coming from.
The rational side says "trapped wind" and the irational side says "lung cancer"

The not breathing properly is the anxiety, I cant catch a decent breath today as I am struggling with pain in my underarms.

You girls are great. I know I must sound like a broken record here, but it makes me feel a bit better knowing I am not the only one with "health anxiety." That is what we tend to call hypochondria around here. LOL. I know what you are both saying, like Liz said, her and I were having this exact coversation earlier today. I hate doing it too, but I can't stop myself...although LIz, I have kept up wth our deal, no web diagnosis today. How bout you? LOL.

I haven't looked although I must tell you I am at work and have spent nearly the ENTIRE day on this site... here's hoping I didn't forget to do anything too pressing...lol.  Thank God I'm not a brain surgeon huh...****.

So no I haven't visited Web MD today but let me tell you I feel like CRAP right now and I need to go find a big rock that I can hid under for a while.  My daughter (Lauren)turned 8 yesterday and we are having a slumber party tonight with 3 other eight year old girls and I am praying that I will feel better before they arrive at my house.  Add to that the fact that my husband is less than thrilled about being home tonight (can't blame him) and my 2 year old (Adam) is wheezing and required a nebulizer treatment this afternoon which makes him absolutely wild!!!!  Praise God that my Mother took Matt (5) and (Mikey) almost 13 to her house...they are going to go to a movie (fantastic Four) and then spend the night...

Did u get all that.  Thoughts are racing racing racing.  Anyway I have to be entertaining and mommy of the year tonight so a/p cannot, CANNOT hinder me tonight - please God let me realize that this discomfort I'm feeling does not mean I am dying.

Its 9.20pm here so I am all tucked up on the sofa with a glass of wine and CSI on tv tongue

I really do want to say a huge thank you though for today. I am so happy that I found this site.

Am looking into some meditation tomorrow :-)   as I need to learn how to relax!

I prefer to call it HEALTH Anxiety not hyponchondria
We are way more in tune with our bodies in my Honest opinion
But each to theri own lol

Lyn, I totally agree, health anxiety is a much better way of saying it... if I could get over these feelings I think I would be done with all anxiety.

Health Anxiety, me too, me too!.
I am like Lyn as we are nurses and we always look things up, it is naormal to worry about your health and if you read the threads in any of the forums we have good company doing the same as us.
Verity, welcome and we all deserve to be anxiety free and to just do fun things without the panic.
You will overcome this with some hard work, with the help of your physician and with the love and support you will find here on this site.
The wonderful members here have brought me much support. This is a safe haven to come and talk to people who understand where your coming from.
Stay with us and keep posting.
