JUST DIAGNOSED WITH ANXIETY/PANIC ATTACKS HELP!!

Wow reading all yalls comments sounds like my everyday life. I was rushed to er by ambulance in april cause I thought I was having a heart attack. They ran all kinds of test and everything came back normal. At a later date I began to feel the same way so I made a appt. With my regular doctor. Which she said that I am suffering from anxiety/panic attacks. I have all those symptoms....Hot flashes, tingling, dry mouth, headache, and also while I'm having an attack I urinate ten times more than normal. Well anyway my doc put me on zoloft. I started taking it 2 days ago. I have to take a half of one for the first week then after first week take whole one. Does anyone take thos medication, and does it help??/ are there any side effects. I'm kind of nervous about taking it.

Hi Brandy,
I take Zoloft and it has been great for me. Meds are not a cure all but they do help. You need to do the work as well. There are all kinds of things you can do to help get through a PA. Breathing, trusting yourself, knowing that the attack cannot hurt you and staying in the moment. Affirmations are great as well. I have been dealing with Panic my whole life and finally decided meds were in order and I am so glad I decided to take them. I hope you are doing well with the Zoloft. I had a few side effects, but I knew they would go away and they did.
