Hi There! Thanks for reading this and your thoughts regarding neurontin taking 1600mg at bedtime and 400mg twice a day. I have depression and anxiety the neurontin was prescribed 3 yrs ago and about
3 months ago my psychiatrist lowered the day dose from 800mg twice a day. When prescribed I was very tearful, needing a hysterectomy at age 36, a job that I could not do because of constant bleeding and I hated to quit but my pyschiatrist said this is crazy continuing to work and I did quit.
1) 1 week after taking the neurontin I was much much better! But I have heard from others that I am on an usually high dose? Is this a high dose and how do you lower the dose or wean?
2) I am also taking 4mg everynight of clonipin for anxiety and sleep for years, I guess 4 years. I don't take any clonipin during the day. I am trying to go to 3mg and 2mg but how is it usually done. I told him I was coming down and one time. He stopped it completely and I had the heebe geebes! I called the office and they had computerized records since my shrink went out of town. She said oh, he stopped your klonipin. She said you can get rebound anxiety from long term benzos. She said 4mg is a lot. THere are only 4 in the practice. I was taking 8mg and he let me wean myself and did 7/8 alternating for a long time weeks! then 7/6 same and down to 4mg and it has stayed. I had to have surgery last year on my ovary a tumor, benign. Now, it seems going to 4/3 is much harder and I have been taking 3mg and can tell.
How do you wean from 3 to 2 as you get closer to zero.. I read the other note but do you decrease by .25? is that the norm?
3) I also take seroquel for sleep and augment zoloft @ 50mg I also, just started Wellbutrin 150mg for 1 week now at 300mg for 2 weeks for depression/anxiety. He and I want to lower the seroquel as well.
The dose is 250-300mg at night I am trying to take only 250mg at night the most and trying to lower to 200mg is hard. Why is it hard to come off these meds. How is seroquel usually weaned? When weaning seroquel does it cause you to have twitches or jumping in hand or foot, leg, small part of knee jiggle. Is that the side effects of coming off seroquel? I have tried going to 200mg and I am not as groggy during the day.
4) I have been evaluated for MS and told I had old optic neuritis. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last year or so.
I have no brain lesions or cord. All that is good. So they are referring me out
OK that is all thanks! I appreciate your time and patience to do this and do realize to follow my doctors instructions etc....
