Girls vs Boys??????

My hubby, who also suffers from a chronic condition brought up an interesting point. He said he thought that as a general rule, he thinks the percentage of women that post regularly here is much higher than men. I'm wondering if he's right or not..?

I dunno...I'd say I tend to see more women...

I think its cuz women find help and healing throu talking out thier problems and also find comfort as well.
As with mean it seems they are alot less likely to talk about problems because they think it makes them weak.
I grew up around very macho men and they would never admit to a problem cuz they siad it made them seem like less of a man.
However I disagree, I think it take a real man to be brave enough to speak up about his fears and problems and ask for help.
Now I am not sure really how many men vs women post on here these are just my thoughts.

A lot of people think/thought I was a girl for a long time, I guess because they thought "Debaser" had something to do with "Deb", "Debbie", or "Deborah". It's a word though, and the title of one of my favorite songs.

I tend to think there are more women who post here, and there's a lot of reasons for that. According to the NIMH, women are much more likely to suffer with a/p disorders. I don't know what their methods are. Also, there are social norms at work, too. Many women still decide to stay at home to take care of kids and stuff, and maybe they have more time to log in during the day. Men are more likely to watch sports and stuff on TV at night. That's my guess, anyway.

But there are some cases of mistaken gender, for sure.

hard to really say, as Skitt say it can be decieving by the name, but in general i also agree with Panickattacker, males do have a tendancy not to talk as freely about there problems, As i dont talk as freely as my partner, and NO panic your not wierd...
