I am right there with you! I am counting the seconds until I see my pdoc on Monday because my anxiety is through the roof. I am trying everything I can think of, including the following:
- laying down - no tv, no radio, no sound,
- breathing in and out - exhale/inhale nice and slow over and over and over. count each breath if you have to.....
When that doesn't work......
- I get the dog, go for a nice walk to tire us both out. walk fast, then slow, then fast, whatever i am feeling at the moment.
- Take a nice hot bubble bath....with calm, soothing music....or no sound at all...whichever feels best.
- repeat steps one and two above
For me...the key is to get rid of all antagonizing, stimulating things. Keep telling yourself that you are going to be ok. Repeat it over and over and over until you FEEL it. "I am calm. I am calm. I am going to be ok. Everything is ok."
