I'd like to know what you can do to keep from needing the sugery on the hernia. Every now and then, it seems like it presses into my diaphragm, because my breathing is just slightly altered. It isn't...
(Can you tell me how alert you were for the procedure, and how much pain you felt during? I have a colonoscopy on the 29th, and I'm a tad scared)...
Just woke up from my procedure an hour ago, so sorry if this post doesn't make a lot of sense. After my procedure was done, I asked the nurse about my results. She brought over the file, and...
I have a weird twitch in my right hand, right where the thumb meets the palm, basically. It makes the whole thumb move back and forth. It's really annoying. Somebody on a different forum suggested I...
that doctor sounds like a real jerk!! If any of my dr's had suggested to me that it was all in my head, (as it basically sounds like this one is suggesting), I would have done the same thing as you-...
I tried to respond to this days ago, however some problem with the board kept me from logging in. I've been experiencing all of the above- pain in my legs just from walking up stairs; pain...
korbnep, thanks for that link. I've been dealing with chronic headaches myself, for many years. It's always worse in the summer, when the sun is intense. I have to wear headaches to help ward them...
My thyroid tests (according to my neuro) have come back fine.. however, I had an MRI on Friday (my second in 6 1/2 months), and it showed a tiny mass in the left lobe of the thyroid. Just hours after...
Good luck to you. I really don't know how reliable/dependable they are, but when I had some breast pain early last year, the dr ordered a breast sonogram/ultrasound. Because I was only 31, and had...
I had an MRI done in late September, that (at first) I was told showed nothing. Then I had an episode at the end of April that left the whole left side of my body numb. I was then told that the first...
Yeah, you probably will be. :( My regular doctor told me after about one visit that I had neuropathy. But after some testing- blood work, EMG/NCV tests, a check for diabetes, visit with a PT- she...
Thank you all for your nice posts, and well-wishes. :) I had my ultrasound- that's a breeze. Somewhat fun.. compared to things like being poked with needles. The technician said the dr...
the CNP didn't say much about the degeneration. everybody seems more interested in the mass at this point. i have an ultrasound in 40 minutes. LOL...
well, the CNP told me that I have some degeneration in the spine, and they also discovered a tiny mass in the left lobe of the thyroid. So I'm waiting for somebody to schedule me for an ultrasound....
Question.. do dr's usually call you back right away if your MRI shows nothing? I posted that mine was Friday.. and while I was gone this morning, my Neuro's office called me and left a...
Well, my MRI is scheduled for tomorrow night. However, they're only doing the c-spine. Which I guess is ok, because they'll want to see if anything has changed (or stayed the same) from last time....
Thank you all for your posts. :) It is beyond frustrating that something like this can take years to diagnose. I know that just because my mom has MS, it doesn't necessarily mean that's what I have....
I had an MRI in September, and my neuro told me it was probably not MS, as "there were no spots or dots" on it. Well, I had an episode Monday night, where the entire left side of my body (from foot...
Stella.. that's very interesting that you said you have this in your diaphragm. How did you know that it was dystonia, and not something like an ulcer or some kind of gastrointestinal issue? I'm...
My Neuro doesn't believe I have fibro. She said a lot of my symptoms fit, but others aren't really matching up.. LOL Elavil isn't really a steroid, though. Is it?...
I'm curious to know if anybody "young" has been diagnosed with this? My drs can't seem to figure out what's wrong with me, but I guess for insurance purposes, they need a diagnosis when prescribing...
My pain has been going on since Saturday night... I don't think it's indigestion, as I've since had a BM, gas, etc.. Although I am more constipated, but this isn't usually an area that bothers me...
Duches.. it's wierd your doctor would say that, because a lot of parents of children with autism put their kids on both enzymes and probiotics to help with leaky gut....
First off, I've been taking Prevacid since the 9th of this month. I have yet to see the doctor, because there are no openings. However, based on my symptoms (gnawing in upper stomach, spasms,...
I'm sorry you're going through that. HUGS That is really discouraging news regarding menopause that I had no idea of.. really shocking, to say the least! My aunt went through menopause in her 30's....
Well, for lack of not knowing what else to do LOL I laid in some warm water last night, then slathered my shoulder, elbow (and lower back) in some icy hot. Then went to bed. I'm sure I...
I have something going on with me that is chronic.. what, I don't know. But I feel that whatever it is, is affecting my joints. My knees, ankles, wrists, shoulders, etc.. are having problems, but...
I've never heard of dystonia before, but what is the difference between that and spasticity of the muscles? I am assuming what I have is spasticity, but the doctor hasn't really given it a name....
I remember this happening to me when I was in the 7th grade (20 yrs ago). It was the morning of my very first mid terms. I think I was so nervous, that it caused really bad stomach upset. I kept...
I've only had the one MRI... that was late September. And my EMG/NCV test was in late August. Supposedly my nerves are like that of a teenager (although my mom - who has MS - said the dr told her the...
I started off on the lowest dose- 25 mg, once a day. This was maybe back in October? I was on it for a couple of months before she wanted to bump it up to 50 mg, since it was actually working....
Denda, you're right.. Topamax is a migraine & seizure med, but it is also prescribed for neuropathy. That is why my neuro prescribed it (because she and my PCP have no idea yet what is wrong with...
I know that the numbers of people with MS who suffer from spasticity are pretty high. When I do a google search on it, it seems like most of the links point towards an MS site of some sort. My own...
I am curious to know if anybody has been diagnosed with MS, w/out an MRI showing any lesions? (And if the MRI didn't show anything, did your doc do a spinal? Or wait to see how your symptoms played...
My mother was diagnosed with MS back in the 80's, although I have no idea how long her symptoms may have been around. It caused a lot of issues for her- in fact, her work let her go for bogus reasons...
There are other conditions which could be guilty for the lesions- not just MS. Things like Multiphasic disseminated encephalomyelitis, Transverse myelitis, Lyme Disease, ... you can google "lesions"...
It's not like that anymore, thank goodness. It was just like that for an hour or two. My knee did feel warm, but not "hot". It was just weird! :( (Thank you for responding! :) )...
:) Thank you so much for the supportive post, and welcome. I do appreciate it! I'm sorry that you are all struggling the way you are. It's horrible to read some of the things people on this board are...
I'm not sure how to link here? But I found a website that seems to give a good idea of what the EMG/Nerve conduction test is: http://www.podiatrynetwork.com/document_disorders.cfm?id=220 "Commonly...
My mom was diagnosed with MS maybe 15 yrs or so ago. I have had my own similar health issues, but MS was ruled out because lesions did not show on my MRI. However, both of us experience numbness and...
Ooh.. that will be interesting to watch. Please keep us informed, so I can let my mom and family know. They think I'm crazy for suggesting MS *could* be Lyme. LOL...
My mom was diagnosed with MS when I was a teenager.. and so when I started having a lot of the same symptoms (asking her "do you have this?" when something new would pop up, on the rare occasion I'd...
I was in my early teens when my mom was diagnosed with MS, and my sister is 5 yrs younger than I am.. I don't see the point in hiding it from your kids. They can see you don't feel well, and I'm sure...
I'm very curious. Is it at all possible to test negative for gestational diabetes, but have (or soon develop) Adult Onset? I'm reading up on some problems that my sister is experiencing, and they...
I'm taking 25mg a day for chronic pain relief, some of which does include frequent headaches. I started at 25mg, went up to 50mg for a few days, then had a weird reaction (I think partly because I...
Thank you for making my link clickable, btw. :P The Neuro says she doesn't think I have Fibro, and the CNP (who met with me last time I visited) basically told me the same thing. I think partly...
I'm in the process of trying to figure out why I have a myriad of bizarre (and undiagnosed) symptoms, for at least the last 9-10 yrs now.. (Here's a link to my "chronic pain" thread, if you're...
