I left messages on the Lupus board a couple days ago. I was wondering if any of you had started your symptoms with swollen feet? My 28 year old brother's feet and ankles just out of nowhere swelled up and he was in A LOT of pain. He finally went to a foot dr. and he tested him for rheumitoid(spelling?) arthritis and said it wasn't that. He is going to a rheumetologist(spelling) tomorrow to find out what it could be. OH I forgot to mention that the foot dr. said that he also has 3 heel spurs. He is being tested for Lupus, Fibromalagia and some others tomorrow. I'm really concerned for him. I am hoping that it isn't any life threatening disease. Please help and just let me know if you had these symptoms

The Rhuemotologist will probably also test him for AS it can affect the heels as well as the spine. There are so many things that can cause this that it may take them some investigative work to figure it out-I hope he feels beter soon.

thank you both for replying. he is not on a water pill. the swelling went down from the drugs he was prescribed. I'm not sure the name of it. The dr. said it will help he feel better all over(even though he has no pain elsewhere). I'm so nervous that he has Lupus, fibro, etc. I am just praying for something small. He is going to the rheumy tomorrow so I'm sure he will get some answers. I hate the "not knowing".
