Has anyone has bad side effects from Celebrex?

I recently started taking Celebrex for my spinal arthritis and I have been having a lot of gas and weird dreams. Is this normal? Just wondering.

I was only able to take celebrex for a few weeks because I started having edema in my hands and feet (not joint swelling water retention) I was disappointed about not being able to use it because celebrex did more for my knee inflamation then any drug I had tried to that point.
I also had bad reactions to all the other cox inhibitors. Vioxx gave me the worst headaches I had ever had in my life.
I don't know about the dreams but all of the NSAIDS can potentially cause gas.

My son and I were put on 200mg celebrex and found and increase in seizure activity. Changing to 100mg twice a day eliminated this problem but produced constant pins and needles in our legs. We have since stopped and have gone back to meloxicam 15mg at a time.

I had bad side effects from Celebrex. I gained 4 pounds in 8 days. All of the weight gain was in the form of edema in my legs, feet and hands. I developed hyponatremia. The drug caused abnormally low levels of sodium in my blood because all the fluid in my extremeties. I was offered Lasix to deal with the swelling but said no thanks. I really didn't feel much relief from the joint pain so decided the side effects weren't worth it. Hyponatremia was only discovered as a rare side effect of Celebrex after it was marketed. Fortunately my doctor was aware of this peculiar side effect because some are not and that can lead to bad outcomes.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to ask my doctor to take me off it and put me back on the meloxicam because I'm having weird side effects.

I've never tried meloxicam but I find that sulindac works very well especially on the systemic stuff like fatique and random fevers.

That's so weird I have the same thing going on ,my Rheumy gave me samples for my pain 200mg about a month ago and I ran out of them couple of days ago, haven't had dreams since and for the gas I just thought it was my meds. that I take for my stomach which I do get gas from, but now I think about it was excess of gas. It did help my pain I was going to ask for a perscription.I told my husband about my dreams they were so vivid.
