Costochondritis and Mammograms

I was diagnosed with costochondritis approximately 8 years ago and besides the usual flare-ups, I live with a persistent, dull pain, even my left breast is always tender to the touch. Because of this pain, I have not had a mammogram in several years due to my fear of the pain of having it done. Now I am an educated woman and I know that some pain is better than not having a mammogram at all, in my head I know all of this. I am asking how it feels to have a mammogram and is it tolerable?
