Hi,i am after some advice and would be extremly grateful if someone could help me.

I have had crohns disease with arthritis for 15 years.I have an 11year old daughter who has been suffering with bad joint pain for about 4 weeks. Some days she just cries she is in so much pain.It originally started in her feet and has gradually moved up her legs and is now also in her hands and elbows.Our GP did some blood tests and they have come back fine,but has still said its arthritis,possibly brought on by a viral infection. Will this get any better,and what can i do to help her? The doctor said because of my history it could carry on for a while.

Any advice would be great.I just want to help my little girl.

hey there jules... welcome to the forum.. have you taken your daughter in to see a rheumatologist? One can have arthritis, even if all the bloodwork comes back negative.. my bloodwork doesn't indicate arthritis either.. is she taking anything for the pain? Have you tried ice packs or heating pads? Good luck to you, and please keep us posted on your daughter's progress..

If this is reactive arthritis which seems to be what the doctor was implying it needs to be closely monitored and aggressively treated so I agree with Ducky-have her see a rhuematologist

Thanks for your advice.She is taking strong pain killers for the pain ,but is still struggling.My GP has reffered her to a peadiatrition but have not got the appointment for another couple of weeks.Have been trying ice packs but not really helping.She found lying in a nice warm bath was good ,but unfortunately she can't get out of the bath now. Just hoping she doesn't get any worse!!
