Hello, I'm a newbie and I really need some advice about Reiter's

My fiancee was diagnosed with Reiter's syndrome about 20 years ago after an extreme episode that left him hospitalized and barely able to move. He recovered from that and his reumatologist at the time said there was not much he could do other than treat the pain and other symptoms as they occurred. Fast forward to today, two reumatologists later and he's still in pain every day, some days much worse than others. He is on Etodolac, Lyrica, and Vicodin. He has a little joint pain, but the major pain seems to be in his muscles, rotating to different parts of his body. Weather changes and stress seem to aggravate and intensify the pain. He's done very well to learn to live with the pain, but he says he would do anything to just stop hurting. I am so frustrated because I want to help him, but I have no idea what else to do. His current reumatologist says that he can prescribe stronger medication, but the side effects may not be worth the results. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do? What has worked for you or your loved ones? Any other good sites I can visit for more ideas? I've googled and searched and tried to learn as much as I can but I am almost at the end of my rope. I was diagnosed with Reactive Arthritis 3 years ago now and i still have problems and take regular medication. I got reactive arthritis from a bad gut infection and went from being fit and healthy to not being able to walk in the space of two weeks, i was off work for six months and also saw a reumatologist and was given a number of steroid injections which helped a lot. Because i have a family history of arthritis my reumatologist said that my reactive arthritis will probably become a continues problem. The weather does affect my arthritis and i find cold and damp weather to affect it the worst, i take Naproxen daily at 1000mg and find this helps with the pain.

I really hope your husband finds something which helps him as i know the pain he is going through. Has your husband had steroid injections? I found these really helped and could be somthing you could think of or ask his Reumatologist about.
