Need Urgent Answer Please!

Hi Doreen! Sorry to hear that your coming down with the flu! I also am on methotrexate, although I take the tablet rather than the injection. My rheumy told me that if i feel unwell at all to skip it that week. Because of it being an immunosupressant,  it can make it harder for your body to fight an infection and may make you worse in the long run. I have had to skip it for a few weeks in a row before because of bad infections so it is ok not to take it for a week. If you feel bad, talk to your doctor though. Don't take it! Always go off mtx when you run a temperature. It is ok to miss a dose but ring your rheumy and confirm just in case. golitho

Ah Doreen! So glad you got some replies and were able to act accordingly. I too would've said the same as I learn't the hard way. I had an ecoli urine infection and wasn't told to lay off my mtx shots and ended up being on anti biotics trying to get rid of the infection for 6wks and I've not been the same in that department since.
