How to use Prednisone??

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone uses prednisone as a one off dose just to get you through a flare up?  I am due to have my treatment next week but have a big day this Sunday and just want to use a one off dose of prednisone to get me through it.  Not sure when to take it to have maximum effect.  I am only talking 10mg dose a the most maybe over two days?

Thanks for the response. I don't take prednisone daily. I used to while I was trying to get pregnant but now that I am on Mabthera infusions every 6 months I don't need to. I try to avoid steriods mainly for how I feel when I am coming off them. But Sunday is a very important day and needs me to be on my feet a lot so I just want to take something to get me through. I have heard that one-off or short doses of prednisone reduces side effects. I have spoken to my rheumy about before and he is happy for me to take prednisone like this as and when I need it, but because I have not done very often don't know when to take for maximum effect and minimum side effects. I will call to discuss with him tomorrow though. Thanks again for your help.
