coverage for treatment

There is a program out there called Remistart. It helps patients who can not afford remicade. I don't know the web address, but just do a search and you should find it.

I talked to Remistart and they cannot help because I am required to have Medicare and they cannot help a Medicare Patient with any reimbursements. Medicare makes it against the law for them to do so. I just don't understand how they expect SR.Citizens to pay so much whn living on a limited income.

I have the Remistart reimbursement program. It is a bit confusing to get registered but they do pay. I cannot speak for Medicare coverage but I had to agree not to submit the drug cost to my FSA for reimbursement -- which would be double-dipping so to speak.

From what I understand, Remistart is for people who's co-payment is greater than $100. For the first four doses Remistart will cover up to $600 of the medication cost. It only pays for the drug not the cost of infusion. My drug cost after insurance adjustment is $736 of which Remistart has paid $636. I thought I would be responsible for the remaining $100 but my Dr's office has yet to charge me.

The next four doses are covered by another reimbursement scheme which pays some lesser amount. I have no idea what happens after the 8 doses!
