Hi guys, did anyone travelled with Humira abroad?? In next 2 weeks I am going to Europe to visit my family. I will have the note from the rheumy about taking Humira, I will take original box with the label and should be fine I think? I am just worrying about long time of the travel - as Humira needs to be kept in the low temperature. I will have the ice pack but it is going to be 9 hours flight. I can ask in the plane if they could put it for me in the fridge, but if they will not do it? is it going to be fine?? Hopefully the ice will not melt too fast... any suggestions??

I havent travelled OS but recently travelled 6 hours with my Humira in a cool pack with an icebrick and had no dramas with it getting warm.

I would ask if they could keep it refrigerated for you though - wont hurt to ask :-)

Where are you off too - Im jealous wherever it is :-)

Hi SydneyJo, thanks for the answer :) I was just actually worrying about the ice to melt and not keep Humira cold enough. There is 9 hours flight, but unill I get to the destination there will be 2-3 more hours. I have this travel kit from Humira, the ice pack is quite small, but hopefully will be enough.. :)
I am heading to Poland with my husband to visit our famillies. It was tough decision in term of finances but well... vacation !!!! and lately I just want to live my life as much as I can, money is not important ;) I am happy that I feel good and I want to use "good" days as much as I can!
By the way - I need vacation... just to be away from work for a little. I will be away for 2 weeks - yeeey!!!

Call the airline you will be flying on. Ask them for onboard storage for the Humira. My BIL travels all over the world with his insulin, one of which needs refrigeration. He frequently goes to Asia [23 hr flight/travel time] and the airlines are always extremely nice about doing this.

Make sure you have all your medications in their labeled containers from the pharmacy. Seven years ago I went to several places in Europe as a newly diagnosed Crohn's patient. I was taking 13 medications at the time. I was asked at customs in Denmark and France, about my medications. I had 4 or 5 pills in a small pill container in my purse upon entering France, and they made me dump them because the container wasn't labeled.
