Yep thats it, but i got an instruction dvd with my kit it shows how to do it all

the main thing is put ice pack on spot i used thigh then get the alcahol wipe (you get in pack) wipe over area you have alreadt cooled then pen to skin pop hold the button down untill the little window shows done (mine went yellow) then hold swab or cloth on it for a bit do not rub. and thats it your done be prepaired it might sting or burn so dont jump or let go before the injection complete. My doctor did my first one in his office. He had me make an appointment when my Humira package arrived. It did have an instructional dvd with it and their website has one too. All said- I prefered the doctor to do it the first time so I could see what it felt like before I did myself. As long as you are willing to pay the co pay for their visit I don't see why they would mind doing your first shot. I never used an ice pack prior to injecting but I did leave my pen out for a good 20 mins. before injecting. From what I had heard the cold medicine has a tendency to sting. You also can't leave it out too long or it makes it less effective. 20 mins. is fine. I did not have stinging- it's a little prick that is less than the prick you get from having blood taken and lasts less time.

YES doctor gave me the kit with ice pack and introduction DVD etc and  i collected the prescription from pharacy and took it home and Stared at it a few days then jumped in 

Hope it goes well Vannie, I made an appt with my GP to help me with my first shots until I felt confident to do it alone.
Also went to the local hospital when I first had my injections and asked the nurse to show me what to do, they were happy to do it.
Do you have a nurse locally you could ask? We have a nurse now at our local medical centre but didn't when I first started.
Hope all goes well, the hardest part is taking the caps off.

Hi, everyone! I gave myself a shot on Tuesday, the 6th. So far, so good. I didn't even have an injection site reaction. I ws sort of worried about that, and that I would be allergic. Not much difference in the way I feel yet, but I know I have to be patient. I see my RD on Oct 18th. She wanted to see me six weeks after I started the Humira. How are you Chautrex? are you better now? You were in a rough spot last time I talked to you.

So sorry to hear about your dad. I hope the cancer is treatable. How old is your father? My step-dad battlled bladder cancer and fought it for many years an finally won! I didn't realize you ar in Texas. I have been praying for the people there. So much suffering from the heat, lack of water, and now the wildfires. I hope you are okay in that way, too.

I totally understand your hesitancy to travel. I'm not sure I could do it, either. We went to KC yesterday...a 3-hour drive. My husband, bless his good heart, stopped every hour so I could get out and walk around and just stretch. I made it okay, but not without a little more pain and fatigue. I haven't been on a plane since 911. I didn't like it before, so I would probably hate it now. I wouldn't do well standing in long lines. Plus travelling just makes me feel like I have been beat up all over. If you decide to try it, take extra time. Don't just fly in and fly right back out. You will need to rest from your trip.
