I have had RA symptoms in my right wrist for several years and am currently taking Sulfasalazine (sp?) which has helped my swelling but not completely eliminated the pain in my wrist. For the last 3-4 weeks I have had terrible pain in my right shoulder...initially I thought I had perhaps pulled a muscle but realized that I did not and it hasn't gotten any better. It is painful when I raise my arm to dress and especially is painful at night. Since I am already on this medication I don't understand why it wouldn't also help with this pain. Is this an unusual place to develop RA symptoms? This same shoulder was injured about 10 years ago in an auto accident but I haven't had problems with it in years. I am due to see my Rheumy in July but wonder if I should move the appointment up. She has asked me to consider going on either Humira or Cimzia but we haven't discussed that further. The possible side affects of both scare me but I guess sometimes you have to take a risk. I am almost 65 and also have Atrial-Fib and am on Coumadin for stroke prevention. otherwise I am in good overall health. Anyone have any thoughts or advice for me?
Thanks you so much...this is my first time to post here!
