Hi Zippy!
wow, this must be very annoying! ok....i do not have a problem like this, but i do have some thoughts to throw out here to maybe shed light on a few things.
i see you have sacroiliasitis; my initial thought would be that this inflammation may be impingeing on the lower base of the vertebral column and hitting some nerves (kinda like sciatica) and thus causing focal numbness.
my other thoughts would be to ask you if you have any peripheral neuropathy. that can cause pain, tingling, numbness. do you have diabetis?
peripheral artery disease can cause some numbing problems, but typically is more common in the lower extremities like your legs and feet.
is this feeling truly NUMB? like if i were to stick you with a pin...would you feel it? is it like a frozen numb? does it burn? feel like pins n' needles? or like ants crawling under your skin?
did you ever have shingles?
do you have a psoriatic lesion or patches in that area?
this is most likely nerve related or small vessel related i would think.
if you go to a neurologist, they can run many neuromuscular tests, EMGs and EEgs and all sorts of studies to find out if this is a damaged or inflammed nerve. i would definitely consult with a neurologist. after that...if they cannot find anything, i would consult with a cardiologist if you are still worried.
best wishes Zippy.
