Hi unfortunastly Flare on MTX seems the norm you have to play with the dose to get a comfortable level, i have Flares constantly well actually i have un-controlled RA when you get to your rhumy he might recomend you start a biologic like Humira etc that might help there is another drug your usual doctor miught be able to giive you called Arava "Leflunomide" i got a good result with that for a while.
you've been diagnosed recently so still in early stages to get it under good control.
i worked as a Nurse for some time after diagnosis but eventually had to give it up
is there any way you can take a long term view and look at other areas you could work in later?
or is RA a killer for being in the millitary - are you hiding it do they know you have it?
um if allowed perhaps you could work in recruting or something less physical if that is the issue?
you have to try to pace yourself i know it is hard but the longer you can keep it at bay the better in long term
try to act like it is worse than it is now i mean tell yourself your joints are precious so you try to protect them don't jump hard if you can go round something or used a support wrap around wrists and ankles , i know i did the oposit of what i was told i tried to push thru it and as i was going ok some days i worked harder on those days instead of resting and in long run it was worse
and yes Diet is important as fresh as you can get and plenty of water and try to avoid tomatoes, potatoes and processed foods
Good Luck with your journey
