well i have another appointment this time with an Orthopedic surgen on Wednesday so see how that goes Ha probably useless as usual ,

 i have been getting out of bed at about lunch time all week then returning around 4pm Back so bad i can't take it much longer,

 woke this morning couldn't moove Hip and back was intense and my right hand was twice the size the knuckle on index finger has a pronounced deform now.

 its spring here now and known as "storm season" due to intence weather changes one day beautiful sunny next windy or thunderstorm so that plays havok with me

and whats worse is i have to have $150 to go to this guy and so i won't be paying my electric bill this month. 

and i don't know if it's the MTX or i've over done the pain meds but had repeated vomiting as well Oh Fun

Oh, Bad Day, it is time you caught a break. I hope your doctor's appt is helpful, for a change, and that they can do something to ease your pain. You know, when I am in a lot of pain, I get really sick to my stomach. Maybe your body is just tired of the pain. The changing weather plays havoc with us, too. Hugs, sweet lady.

I hope things get better for you soon and so very sorry your having a very hard time of it. Prayers for you and keep us posted on what the surgeon says. Many prayers and well wishes.

Good luck Bad day, I have my fingers crossed for you that this guy can help you. My friends husband messed his back up really badly (got stuck in a chimney!) He couldn't even straighten up he was in so much pain and he had surgery just before Christmas and now he is amazing. He was given all sorts of doom and gloom prognosis' so I am amazed at what can be accomplished with a good surgeon.

Thanks All well when hubby found out it was costing $150 he whinged

this Orthopedic guy is for my knee and hip he "dosn't do Backs" but i will definatly bring it up to him and see if he can recomend Anyone

i have a friend who has Bad Back Pain he had an accident years ago rolled his car woke up in hospital and was told he'd never walk again,

they fixed him altho he still has constant back pain and he has titanium rods in his back where they repaired it ,

 he told me before they did it they took bone scans for levels of "thickness" he called it and they tested for osteoporosis and they would not have operated if they showed poor

Thats my main issue the Osteoporosis so far they are all telling me they won't risk operating as the surrounding bone is not good enough to hold

so right now i really don't know where i stand , a smile and a smart answer like "oh 1 in 5 people come to me with back problems i can't do anything for" which is what i got last time is just not good enough

hay i was able to get out of bed long enough to feed my dog today

at least our weird weather is a bit better today that helps,

 i guess i need to tell this guy about my right hand the knuckle gets 3 times its size and the finger now vears to the left luckily i am left handed oh i try to keep a scence of humour but it is getting harder every day

Hi

Well went to specillist appointment and the Ortho seemed Quite Nice and he confirmed my knee problems were Not related to my back,

 So much for physios !! a few years ago when i has once again hospitalised with this knee Locking and me spinning in Pain she told me as i had ruptured Disc in my back it was siatic nerve grapping knee,which sounded resonable to me at the time and she had me doing back excercises.

 He has Booked an MRI of knee

(Gosh Yes you'd think someone would have done that before now wouldn't you)   anyway  we will see from that what to do.

i didn't bother bringing up my back with him i did say i have constant disc ruptures and have one now  he was sympathetic but did not offer anything so i didn't ask, thought i'd deal with one thing first

i have a local doctor appointment on Monday so i'll tell him it is No better

But back to my knee i can't bend down or run (ha ha ha can't remember the last time i ran) also can't twist that is how it locked twice before i was in a fast food booth and had to twist turn to get out of seat when a Thump hit my knee and it Locked with it a Pain like Nothing i've Ever felt couldn't bend or straighten or even Moove leg got taken out Via an Ambulance, 

othertimes ive just bent to do up a shoe and landed on the ground in pain and had knee locked for a week

but it is good to know it is more RA related than related to my Back cos Maby they can fix it tongue   turn  yeah silly thought

and the finances worked out ok as well cos it cost $150 but i recovered $70.00 back from medicare so i ended up only paying $80.00 which is resonable.

When is your MRI? I'm so glad this guy took your knee seriously, now you just need someone to fix the back!

Can't they fill you with that bone cement stuff? I know when I was in hospital last time a woman in the bed opposite had fractured her back coughing (she had osteoarthrits) they gave her some sort of bone hardening compound to prevent it happening in the future??? Sorry I was so sick myself I didn't pay alot of attention. I just remember it was something they were using to shore up her brittle bones.

Is that something that could help you?

Its so frustrating for you when your body lets you down.

I'm having a good day today, yahhh for good days. Just a few aches and pains. The trick is not to do too much.

Hi i don't know when the MRI is as the xray place just books an appointment and phones me with the date i do know it won't be untill after November 1st as thats when they are all set up with medicare rebates etc, in our town we have just last month got our own MRI machine before that we had to travel to the next town, and all the seting up stuff is still being done as i am on a pension i will get it done for free but just have to wait till the paperwork done,so i don't mind its only a week or so , and the knee is behaving itself so not much pain there.

and golitho i have heard of this cement stuff to an elderly friend of mine her sister is elderly and she had it done

for some reason im not a candidate i think my back is too far gone nono

Have had a pretty good day today went out in the sun had blood tests and of course that didn't go smooth as my veins are lousy (yes them too) they use a fine needle on a tube atachment called a butterfly then the sucker tube ataches to this well the sucker came apart and the blood vile dropper and the needle was "hanging there" tube flapping i was trying to hold So still as needle points upward but the nurse was good grabbed everything and no great drama.

then i went to arrange the MRI and then went to local ice cream store and got a big cup of ice cream creamy homeycomb and was able to hobble around without too much pain so all good only now latter in the day is it starting to get Yucky But hay had nice time in sun turn

i hope you are feeling better sometimes i get wrapped up and forget to ask but am thinking of you all
