Hi All,
It has been quite a while since I last posted. I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place at the moment with my meds. I have such severe pain in the mornings particularly from the shoulders to the elbow joints and in the wrists and hands.
The rheumatologist has tried me on quite a few meds to which I have hit a brickwall for one reason or another. At the moment I am taking 5mg prednisone; 200 mg plaqunil and then painkillers when needed. I feel like he isn't really treating my RA and seems casual in response to the degree of my pain.
I have previously tried methetrexate; arava; sulfar......(I have fogotten the spelling) and for pain oxycontin. I can no longer take any of these meds.
The doc says if my ESR goes up greater than 25 then I can go onto Humira or similar drugs. But the ESR is only 4 at the moment but why do I have so much pain? He also says he has a lot of patients like me where the ESR isn't high enough and they just have to basically suffer the pain.
Does anyone else have this problem?
